"Closed to Submissions!"

Since the November 2008 issue has been filled, Grim Graffiti is closed to submissions until January 2009. If you submitted a story and have not received an acceptance or refusal from us, then please remain a little more patient with us. We have not forgotten about you. Thanks for understanding!

Grim Graffiti's next reading period is planned to begin January 15, 2009 and end February 15, 2009. Stories accepted during the January/February reading period will appear in either the March 2009 issue of Grim Graffiti or the July 2009 issue.

If interested in knowing when our reading periods open and/or when a new issue of Grim Graffiti is up, please feel free to join our mailing list.

The Gist of Grim Graffiti's Second Newletter.

Although we prefer releasing this information through our emailed newsletters, we decided to also post the details of our latest newsletter as we realized that authors and perhaps some readers who are not subscribed to our newsletters might like to know what's on the horizon for Grim Graffiti.

So without much further ado, here is the gist of our latest newsletter:

Greetings from the Grim Side!

The 2008 winter issue of Grim Graffiti is now available! This issue is bursting at the seams with 13 delectable dark tales. Of course those seams have been sliced opened, explored with morbid curiosity, and then crudely stitched closed.

Grim Graffiti is proud to present dark fiction by Brian Haycock, J. R., Kurt Kirchmeier, Mari Mitchell, Michael A. Kechula, R. S. Pyne, Rick McQuiston, Sandra Seamans, Santiago Eximeno, Stephen Patrick, Steven L. Shrewsbury, Wayne Summers, and Weldon Burge.

Grim congrats to Mari Mitchell for having her story, "Alice in Ink," chosen as the Grim Editor's Choice. Kudos to all of the authors for continuing to make it difficult for us to decide the Grim Editor's Choice.

The Proposed Print Copies

The possibility of gathering each volume of stories into a print collection still exists. We are still hoping to make this a reality beginning with the stories published during Grim Graffiti's first year. We will likely contact all authors with further details sometime after the April 2008 issue has been published.

If, for some reason(s), we decide not to publish the collections, then we will have the stories available through our archive, once again, at the website.

Upcoming Changes

After the April 2008 issue, Grim Graffiti will become a tri-annual publication. The ezine will be published three times a year during the months of March, July, and November instead of four times a year during January, April, July, and October. Grim Graffiti's reading periods will change also after the July 2008 issue. Our guidelines will soon be updated to reflect all changes. We hope our readers and contributors will continue on with us and our journey.
